WEEKENDER
Ahoy!
Such a good weekend, which started off with a roll up the rim win: a Timmy’s donut!
Oddly enough, I couldn’t sleep, even after losing an hour to daylight savings this weekend. Worked out perfectly as T and I wandered over to the Twisted Fork around 10:15 AM and grabbed the last table! Usually being late sleepers, this was a big deal for us. The next group was advised the wait would be ~45 – 60 mins.
We were starved so opted for the scones first, which came with delicious banana jam. I’ll be honest, I had no reason to be initially skeptical. Sounds like the jam changes daily, but is always awesome.
T ordered the Croque Monsieur and I picked the bacon and carmelized onion fritata. Portion sizes here are large, almost too large, and overall the food makes for a GOOD MORNING.
If you’re wondering, here are some specifics I noticed:
- The orange juice is tropicana, straight from the carton ($4)
- If I were a coffee drinker, waiting in line would be 10x better as they let you have a french press while you wait by the door
- Prices are done so HST can be added seamlessly (aka, all breakfast dishes are $13.50 AFTER tax)
Hope all your weekends were lovely as well.
